Assistant Scale House Attendant

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
  • Effectively and professionally solicit information from internal/external customers (both in person and over the phone) as well as respond to their need for information and assistance with clear and concise verbal directions.
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc) for majority of the workday.
  • Operate a truck scale indicator, weigh trucks accurately and generate scale tickets with speed and accuracy
  • Must be able to accurately make change for cash sale customers and accurately maintain the petty cash assigned to the location, reconciling it daily.
  • Ensures that incoming loads do not contain any inappropriate material.
  • Completes all administrative tasks including regular filing, download and send all generated tickets and cash sales to office in a timely manner.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention
  • Approaches all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements part of the workday
  • Provides general upkeep of the Scale House


Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Industry experience in ticketing software or scale house management preferred, but not required.


Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must have good credit history. A credit cheek will be performed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, and the public always.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all entries on scale tickets.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
